In lieu of a traditional wedding ceremony, we are opting to celebrate our love via music! Emphasis on Forever is our music collaboration project that began as a bit of a joke, but has evolved into our favorite way to express our love and relationship. So that's what we want to share with all of you!
The concert will essentially be the same as us exchanging our vows, just no officiant, and no aisle. We will still be celebrating with a DJ, dinner, drinks, and dancing after.
We’ll be posting up at Montrose Point, in the grass south of the Bird Sanctuary. There will be signs to help direct you to us.
We recommend Uber or Lyft but there is both free and paid parking available, and you can take the 78 or 146 CTA bus to Montrose & Marine.
If you want a cute Chicago adventure, rent some Divvy bikes and ride up the lake shore path!
No, we are not doing a traditional registry. Your presence in our life is a gift enough! But should you want to contribute in some other way, you can sign up for the open mic or join a crew on the RSVP form.
If you can’t contribute that way or would like to offer a monetary gift, here are a few causes dear to our heart that you can support.
Partners are welcome, but this isn't the kind of event that you'd ask someone on a date to. However, if there's someone in particular you'd like to bring, just ask us!
Summer casual recommended (sundresses, jumpsuits, linen button-downs). But really, wear whatever makes you feel good and comfortable!
You are allowed to wear white!
We’ll be by the Lake, so bring a light sweater or jacket because it does get chillier at night, and a bathing suit if you want to get in. We’ll be in the grass, so we advise against thin heels.
You don’t need to bring anything except your lovely self, but if you want to, bring whatever goodies you normally like to have for a classic Chicago lake day. Floaties, picnic blanket, sunscreen, bug spray etc. We’ll have all those things too, and plenty of food and drinks, but you can BYO whatever you’d like to make the night special.
For out-of-town guests, we recommend getting an Airbnb.
If you’d like to stay close to the wedding site, we recommend the following neighborhoods:
If you’d like to stay closer to where we live:
If you’d like to stay in a hotel downtown, these are two that we know:
